The ball lower than feet level This being our last chronicle in this series, we will view game situations when the ball is at rest lower than feet level. The errors committed most frequently are: topping the ball; directing the shot towards the right of the objective (right-handed); slicing the ball; and obtaining a distance that is longer than usual. You will find attached suggestions to increase your chances of success in such a situation. August 20, 2009 3. The ball higher than feet level When the ball rests higher than feet level, the errors committed most frequently are:
making contact with the ground before the ball; missing the shot to the left of the objective; and applying a hook effect (from right to left for those right-handed). The ball on a downward hill In our last chronical we had an overview of game situations when the ball was at rest on an upward hill. This chronical discusses the ball on a downward hill. When the ball is at rest on an downward hill, the most frequent errors are: producing a trajectory that is low and longer than usual; miss the shot to the right of the objective (right-handed); and topping the ball. The attached file contains a few suggestions to increase your chances of succeeding a shot in such a situation. July 20, 2009 1. The ball on a upward hill When the ball is at rest on an upward hill, the most frequent errors are: lack of distance; make contact with the ground before the ball; and miss the shot to the left of the objective. The attached file contains a few suggestions to increase your chances of succeeding a shot in such a situation. July 13, 2009 Downward hills, upward hills etc... We will encounter 4 situations:
1. The ball on a upward hill, 2. The ball on a downward hill, 3. The ball higher than feet level, 4. The ball lower than feet level.
We must make adjustments to our technique and consider different trajectories according to the severity of the hill.
